Good morning Lovelies. Father I come to you this morning first of all just saying thank You. You have brought me to the beginning of a new day. I ask You to renew my heart with Your strength and purpose. Forgive me the errors of yesterday and bless me to walk closer in Your way today. Order my steps. Dear Lord, I pray that You give me strength today, to be strong for You in this world full of temptations. You know that there are struggles that I will go through today. I pray that You be with me as I go through them. Carry me when I am too weak. I don’t know who or what will cross my path today. But I do know that You are my rock and my fortress. You are my shield and my strong tower. Help me to anchor myself to You today. Teach me how to stand strong in You and choose only Your way today. Help me walk by Your truth and not my feelings. Help me to embrace anything that comes my way as an opportunity to see You at work and as an opportunity to point others to You. Take my hand, precious Lord for I cannot make it by myself. In the Mighty Matchless Name of Jesus. Amen.
Are you so rushed in the day that you find it hard to take even a few minutes to speed with God? Many people set aside time in the early morning before they get caught up in the busy time of the day. Many of us are finding it difficult to cope with the 24 hours we have, to carry out all that we have planned for the day. This is true of activities at home as well as at our jobs. No wonder there is an abundance of resources that have been done on time management in order for us to be effective or efficient. I saw a quote one day scrolling through Facebook that said, “HOW TO MANAGE OUR BUSYNESS’. (I mean BUSYNESS and not BUSINESS).”
Spending time with God in the early morning is a good time to communicate intimately with Him. It is quieter at that time of day- thus ideal to concentrate and converse with The Father. The Bible tells us to seek first the Kingdom of God all other things will be added onto you. (Matthew 6:33) Even Jesus took time out in the early morning to seek God’s face. He deliberately chose to get up very early in the morning and looked for an isolated place to pray. He sought the Father first, before all other activities and believed all other things or activities will be taken care of- whether it had to do with the raising of Lazarus from the dead, feeding of multitudes, or preaching, teaching, healing, casting out demons, wisdom to answer difficult questions; He was convinced that spending quality time with The Father, would enable Him to successfully carry out his activities. The location and timing created a peaceful atmosphere- free from distraction.
We often tell ourselves that we don’t have time to pray and study the Bible early in the morning; so we carry on with our make-shift arrangement of using our cars, the bus, trains, the restroom at work to spend time with the Lord in prayer and to sneak a few peeks at Bible reading. Something that was just temporary (an exception to the rule) has now become a regular habit in us, to say just two, three words to God. (and we say that is a prayer) We need to discipline our body to respond to spiritual matters- we should forget those prayers of convenience and Bible readings. Rather as mature Christians we should engage ourselves more with prayers of commitment and effective personal Bible studies.
We are all busy people in this day and age. But Jesus was quite busy than any one of us. His day was jam-packed with activities, devoid of modern technologies to make things easier for Him. Each day when we wake up God is calling us forth once again into the day He has created for us. I have to admit that I didn’t always wake up with my first thoughts being to talk to God. I always thanked Him but it was so mundane there were times when I didn’t even get up. I just laid there thinking thank You God in-between trying to get those extra 5 minutes of sleep that I had set my alarm for. But, as God’s conviction became stronger I started thinking about how I was showing Him reverence. It was sloppy and had no feeling in it. When your love for God grows you want to spend more time with Him. As I grew in God I began to want to spend more and more time with Him. I spend time with Him on my job in the grocery store basically anywhere that I am because I am not ashamed of Him.
Sometimes the weight of the day starts to bear down on us even before we rise. But consequently, each morning is a resurrection, a return from the darkness of sleep into the light of God’s love. Each day is a new day with great potential if we choose to start it that way if we choose to make God part of our morning routine.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!” Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else, to the nearby villages, so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. Mark 13:35-39.
Live life, give people hope and share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.
As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 4.5.18
